Guided tour of the collections in An Fasagh in the Highland Folk Museum, Newtonmore. ‘Am Fasgadh’ is the Museum’s collection facility incorporating collections storage and conservation; resources including collections study and research library; administration including offices and meeting spaces. Its primary function is to house the Museum’s core collections numbering approx. 12,000 items. Tours will take you around the main collection store, whilst access to other parts of the building is by appointment.

Caring for Community Archives

On Wednesday 11th September the Highland Archive Centre in Inverness will be hosting, in collaboration with the Scottish Council on Archives, a day-long free workshop for those who work or volunteer with community archives.  The event will provide attendees with an insight into basic data protection and copyright legislation, explain how the Highland Archive Service and Am Baile can provide support to community archives and provide a networking opportunity.  Further details will be released nearer the time but to register interest in attending please contact archives@highlifehighland.com
